Current River Adventure

Posted By Mark

April is my favorite time to explore on the Current. Temperatures were between 55-60 degrees-perfect! Navigated what used to be a forest service road for a few miles, then hiked down to the river with lunch and my fly rod. Passed some really old cabin remnants and entered the river just above Parkers Ford. The water and structure is beautiful in this stretch and it receives very little wade-fishing pressure. Small and medium brown trout in every riffle and pool. Great day for some dry-fly action. Caddis fly and mayfly activity almost all day-heaviest between 4-6pm. The underbrush hasn't filled in yet and it was easy to hike the bank. One of the best day-trips in a long time.
