Boston Independent Fabrications Tour
Posted By Andy
Over the Thanksgiving holiday while the sane people were sitting around watching football and eating turkey, I was freezing in cold Boston doing bicycle research. I got the chance to check out how our newest bicycle frame builders, Independent Fabrications, get the job done and build awesome quality bikes at the same time.
The factory itself is pretty modest but this is not out of the ordinary for a bike builder of this size. I mainly think that Independent chose to keep it this way in order to maintain the quality that they are known for.
The picture that I picked for this blog is the lugs that IF's newest bike employs to fuse the carbon and titanium together. These pieces went far beyond the quality that I expected and were some of the coolest frame pieces I have seen.
Overall I thought that Independent's frame production was one of the best set-ups that I have seen. The most exciting part about IF is that all of there work is done by hand in house. If you have the money to spend and want a good quality frame that is built just for you IF is the way to go.
