Core Stability

Posted By Kyle

Stability balls and sit discs can help you on your way to becoming trimmer and slimmer. They are great for the office or home. When you use either of these for sitting at a desk you will be strengthening your midsection by simply using those muscles. The nice thing about the sit disc is that you can use your current chair so that no matter where you are and what you are doing you will be working on tightening and flattening your stomach as well as working on those love handles. When you use a Swiss ball you simply move your chair out of the way and use the ball in place of your normal chair. The main reason for using either of these is to do active sitting. Active sitting is when you use your core muscles or midsection to keep yourself sitting upright while sitting on something that is unstable causing you to use all or most of your core muscles. One reason that you would want to do this is because for every 10 seconds that you flex your abdominal muscles is like doing 1 sit up, so if you could stretch this out throughout the day trimming up and loosing those unwanted inches around the midsection would be much easier when coupled with regular exercise.
