The Possible Comeback Kid

Posted By Matt

After a long winter of doing absolutely nothing and loving it, the warm weather is finally returning. So this means it is time to knock the dust and dirt off my bike and get training. It's been awhile since I have logged any serious miles any I no longer have an excuse not too. With the racing season nipping at my heels and the school year wrapping up my training time will be pretty limited. This means making the most out of the miles that I put in, by doing a lot of high intensity intervals and climbing to get my power back. One thing that I don't like to do too much when training is to train by myself. I have ridden enough miles to know that I personally need someone to compete against and keep pace with when I am riding.
Cross training is also an important part in my regiment. I play soccer and ultimate frisbee to gain endurance, rock climbing for strength, and running for both strength and endurance.
One big part of cycling that is the most commonly looked over by cyclists is nutrition. Nutrition is a huge part of cycling and needs to have attention paid to it, if you want to be a successful rider or racer. Always make sure you not only eat a good meal the day of a ride, but also the night before. Also a sports supplement is usually a good idea to give you the vitamins not readily available in your regular diet.
So now that this magnificent weather is gracing it with it's presence make sure to get out there and ride!!!!!!!
