What to do Outside

Three Creeks State Forest

Central Missouri

Activities: Hiking, Mountain Biking
Nearby: Columbia, MO
Length: 8 miles of trails
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Best Season: Spring Summer Fall Winter

These trails are great for hiking and biking with hills and valleys that provide for many technical challenges. The trails are best ridden in dry conditions and become fairly unrideable, or at the very least, not fun when conditions are muddy. This is a great location for hiking when you just want a quick day hike or a weekend overnighter with little preparation. Keep in mine that his trail is also open to horses and be aware of the equistrian trail users. Above all else, have a good time out there.

Directions

South of Columbia on Highway 63. Turn Right on Deer Run Road. Stay this the main road through several right angle curves until you see state forest signs. Then turn left and end in parking lot.
