Fuel EX 9

Trek has moved into the realm of an all use full suspension bike again with the Fuel EX series. Four inches of front and rear wheel travel (as opposed to three inches on the Fuel) and sealed bearings in the pivots allows for longer lives and less maintenance requirements. The ride is smooth in rocky terrain and can soak up some big hits on fast trails. When it comes to climbing, the suspension works smoothly and allows the rear wheel to hook up on uneven, rough trails, but when it smooths out the front and rear suspension can be shut off with the flip of a handlebar switch. The XT integrated shifter levers can be finicky but work smooth when fully tuned. The Fuel EX is a great bike that can be used as a great all around bike.
